Chapter begins with Sabo’s dead body being found washed up on shore by some local from Central town. News of this spreads to the “Saint” Jalmack and eventually to Ace. Jalmack decides that he will publicly desecrate Sabo’s dead body on his depature from Goa. Ace decides to break his promise and go to town so that he can get Sabo’s corpse back and bury him. When Ace gets into town he beats some people up and learns about the public desecration that will happen the next day. He feels enraged, but remembers Dadan’s words.

The ceremony begins Dragon also appears along with Kuma and Iva saying that the desecration of the body of this child is a stain on the history of this world and needs to be remembered for the sake of those who will seek freedom in the future. He then sees Sabo’s body being brought out and remembers what happened earlier. Ace is also at the ceremony and rushes through croud of people to try to get Sabo’s body, but can’t make it. Just as the body is about to be desecrated by Jalmack Dragon kills him. End chapter.

Turns out Sabo was alive. He swims to shore to find Ace crying. They go off to town to celebrate, but then Sabo’s father’s ends up spotting them. They dash off, coming across a very long set of stairs. Sabo accidentilly trips and falls on his pole, which impales him through his chest clear out his back. He tries to find dying words to say to Ace, but they come up a gargled mess. Ace shakes his head and says, ”you’ve already said all that’s needed to be said, and I’ve already shed all the tears that need to be shed – go in peace, and don’t worry bout Luffy. I’ll look after him”
Sabo dies in his arms, and Ace ends up breaking down again. Luffy comes to the scene and gets Ace out of there.

End flashback. Luffy then tells himself that he’ll live on for Sabo and Ace. He tells himself this again and again. Like a zombie.
Jimbei comes up to him and says, “I will give my life in order to see you through this tragedy.”
Luffy’s stomach growls.
Luffy turns to Jimbei, mistakes him for Sanji’s fishsticks, and starts to eat him.
